结构:
主语+had+过去分词.
这个时态是表示在过去某一时刻或动作以前完成了的动作,也可以说过去的时间关于过去的动作.就是“过去的过去”.通常和by, before等连用.
不难的,
比如说：
嗯, I found the key that I had missed.我找到了我丢失的钥匙.
总之就是过去的过去.当然也可以有具体的分类的,比如说过去的某一时课开始,一直一直延续到过去另一时间的动作或是状态.一般是和SINCE,还有 FOR 连用的.比如说,我,I had came this small town since 2000.
不难吧,我觉得它和其它的时态很好区别的.就是过去的过去.

过去完成时
1） 概念：表示过去的过去

构成：过去完成时由"助动词had（通用于各种人称和数）+过去分词构成.
用法：过去完成时表示在过去某一时间或动作之前已经发生或完成了的动作.它表示动作发生的时间?quot;过去的过去".与by、before等构成的短语连用.
Statements 陈述句
They had already had breakfast before they arrived at the hotel.
在他们到达旅馆之前,他们已经吃早饭了.
从句中"arrived at"到达在"过去"的时间,而"had already had"吃早饭的动作发生在到达之前,因此主句的时态为"过去的过去".
I had finished writing my composition by 10:00 this morning.今天上午10：00点以前,我已经写完了我的作文.

过去完成时的构成
过去完成时由"助动词had (通用于各种人称和数)＋过去分词"构成.主要表示过去某时前已发生的动作或情况（也可说是"过去的过去"）：
By the time I got there,it had already finished.
When I got to the check-out,I realized I had left my purse at home.
He said he had never seen such an exciting match before.
注：如果时间状语从句的动作发生在前,则从句用过去完成时,主句用一般过去时.
When he had finished his work ,he left his office .
After I had done my homework ,I went to bed.

完成时分三种:一般完成,过去完成,将来完成.
一般完成:have done.
解释:你说话时候你已经做完的事.这件事可能在昨天做完,可能刚刚做完,但你要说的只是你做完了而已.
例句:I have finished my homework.
过去完成:had done.
解释:要说的内容是关于你较早时间做完的事,并且你想重点说的是你完成这件事的时间是说话以前就做完的.

将来完成:will have done
解释:你确定自己即将能完成或者有要去完成的意图,并且强调完成的时间一定在将来.

现在完成时和过去时其实都是在说以前曾经发生的事情,只是现在完成时除了陈述过去的事实之外还侧重过去的事情都现在的影响.以你的题目为例,I have suffered poverty. 我已经遭受过贫困了.(隐含着我过去遭受过贫困,所以我现在怎么怎么样).I suffered poverty.我过去遭受过贫困,(这个只是在陈述一个事实,我过去贫困,但不强调这个跟现在的关系).

过去完成时的定义没有错误,要用这个时态要有参照点才行
参照点可以是同一句话中的时间状语 比如When I got to the station,the train had left already.我到达车站时火车已经离开了.火车离开是在我到达车站之前发生的,所以是过去完成
参照点还可以是上下文中可以表示时间的句子,比如你这句话.要是没记错的话这个句子应该是新概念2中的,之前应该有个句子是一般过去时.好像是说我的包找不到了,我把它放在门边的椅子上了.把包放在椅子上这个动作是发生在找不到这个动作之前的,也就是过去的过去,所以用过去完成时.
